The 29th summer Olympic Games of the XXIX Olympiad, also known as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, was held in Beijing, capital of the People's Republic of China, at 8 PM on August 8, 2008.

　　The host cities of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are Beijing, with Shanghai, tianjin, shenyang, qinhuangdao and Qingdao as co-host cities. Hong Kong hosts equestrian events.

　　The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will involve 204 countries and regions, 11,438 athletes, 302 sports and more than 60,000 athletes, coaches and officials.

　　A total of 43 new world records and 132 new Olympic records were set at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. A total of 87 countries and regions won MEDALS in the Olympic Games.
